Ashiq Rahman is the Founder and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of QueueFree, a healthcare technology startup headquartered in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. QueueFree builds real-time digital queue management and patient flow software for hospitals and clinics across India.

Ashiq founded QueueFree after witnessing firsthand the chaos of unmanaged outpatient departments (OPDs) in Indian hospitals — where patients routinely wait 2 to 4 hours to see a doctor, queues form from the early morning, and hospital staff are overwhelmed with manual paperwork and token distribution.

His vision was simple but powerful: use technology to give every patient a fair, transparent, and predictable queue experience — without long waits, without chaos, and without expensive infrastructure overhauls.

Under Ashiq's technical leadership, QueueFree has grown into a comprehensive hospital queue management platform that includes real-time OPD token systems, doctor availability dashboards, patient wait-time prediction, WhatsApp and SMS notifications, and analytics for hospital administrators.

India sees over 60 crore OPD visits per year. In most hospitals, patients arrive early in the morning, collect a manual token, and then wait 2–4 hours in crowded hallways — sometimes with sick or elderly family members — with no idea when they will be called.

Ashiq Rahman saw this problem as fundamentally a data and coordination problem. Hospitals had the doctors and the capacity — they just lacked the real-time visibility to manage patient flow intelligently.

QueueFree solves this by digitising the entire token lifecycle: from registration, to queue assignment, to real-time notifications, to doctor handoff — giving hospitals a command-and-control view of their OPD, and giving patients a transparent, respectful experience.
